I was named after Risë Stevens because my mother was a music major who loved the style and grace of Risë Stevens' singing.

Once I was checking into a hotel and the desk clerk practically jumped over the counter and kissed me because he was so "in love" with Risë Steven's work. I also met a man who had worked with Risë in Hollywood, saying she was the most wonderful and kind person in that industry to all walks of life.
