Calling Risa to Menswear

Add me to the Risė Stevens namesake list. I was at a Wal-Mart in rural Missouri. Over the loud speaker, I hear "Risa, please come to Menswear." I thought this strange since no one knew I would be there. Upon arriving at the menswear department, I met the "other Risa," who was a Wal-Mart employee. We both had a good laugh.

It seems when I meet a new person, about 75 percent of the time they have known someone in their life named Risa (various spellings). I occasionally get the mystery e-mail saying, "I went to school with a Risa in Omaha. Are you her?" Before the Internet, I thought I was [probably] the only one.

What a great idea. I had no idea there were so many of us. Risas, UNITE! I used to hate my name, but as I got older, I learned to love it. Being [almost] unique is great!
