I, too was named after Risė Stevens, because my mom liked the name. But a doctor once had my mom in tears by telling her she was terrible for giving me such an unusual name. Everyone asks me the name's ethnic origin. I say I don't know, and they proceed to tell me where it's from. Many folks have very definite ideas about the names ethnic origin — even when I tell them, not that's not it! Everyone loves the name once they figure out (are told) how to pronounce it. 

Probably three people in my entire life have 'guessed' the correct pronunciation!
