I don't think I was named after anyone. We're Catholic, and my dad really liked the name Marisa. I, too, have experienced everyone pronouncing it and spelling it wrong. Most annoying and most frequent: pronounced with a short 'I' and spelled with two 'S's.

I was doing a Google search for "riorisa" to see if anyone else has been using that name. That's the nickname I go by on the Internet. The search brought back all references to me, plus one to a post on this site!

I hope I can still belong to the Risas. I always wanted that to be my name, and I often go by Risa or a form of it, most commonly Riorisa, on the Internet. :)
