My parents were opera fans. I too, am named after Risė Stevens.

I've never given thought to changing the spelling of my name, although it was frustrating growing up, especially in school, and with substitute teachers. (I learned to answer to "Rise" with a long I.)

Now days, I don't hesitate to correct the offender, and appreciate the compliments I receive regarding my name.
