From: Risë Straight, 23, substitute teacher – singer, Buckhannon, W. Va., straight@3wlogic.net Date: 11/17/03 I was named after my aunt, who was named after Risë Stevens. (religion - culture: United Methodist) I have been called by every imaginable pronunciation of the name. When I tell them how it is pronounced, people just look at me strange, like I don't know how to spell or pronounce my own name. The two dots over the “e” are the French tréma or the Latin/English dieresis. The German umlaut is never over an "e." |
