My background is Ukrainian/French Catholic, and I wasn't named after anyone. I think my mother just liked the name.

Usually, when I meet someone new, they think my name is Lisa. After I correct them a couple times, if they still haven't got it, I let them think my name is Lisa. It's kinda fun sometimes. But when people do figure it out, they usually say it's the nicest name they've ever heard.

One summer, as part of my job I had to contact a whole bunch of people. This one lady in particular was extremely rude to me (mainly because I was young). I asked her name so I could fax her something and she said, "It's Reesa" and proceeded to spell it out. I was astonished! We had the same name. I made her aware of this fact, and after that she was super nice to me. I couldn't believe how her attitude changed!
